A LETTER
Regent Palace Hotel,
Piccadilly,
London, W. 1,
4th May, 197 …
Dear Carol,
Thank you very much for your letter – we got it on Thursday.
We didn’t write to you before because we were so busy last week. The Browns
were showing us round London. We saw a lot of interesting sights. We spent the
evenings at concerts , theatres and parties.
Last night the Browns invited us out to a famous London
restaurant. While we were having dinner we saw – can you guess who? – our Boston
neighbor Jim Rodgers. He came to England sometime ago to visit his son.
We drove into the country two days ago. The weather was
fine. In fact, the sun was shining all the time while we were walking across
the fields. It was a wonderful outing. I hope to hear from you soon.
